With the adjustment of the correlated color temperature, the ALEXA camera does not only change the RGB gains to maintain a balanced image. It changes also the color matrix that is applied to the image.

Notice that in the image made under the warmer tungsten light (left side) the red colors are more pronounced than in the image made under cooler HMI light (right side). That’s the idea behind the correction: to make the images similar without removing the characteristic of the light used in a scene.
